Zodiac signs

Hindu astrology features a zodiac system that consists of twelve signs or rasi. Altogether they represent kalpurusha, the personification of eternal time and the zodiac itself, where each zodiac sign in the horoscope corresponds to a specific part of kalpurusha's body. Planetary energies manifest themselves differently in different zodiac signs.

Cardinal signs. Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn are cardinal signs. They are positive, outgoing and action-oriented. On the positive side they express leadership, ambition, self-confidence and impulsiveness. Negatively they make an individual too forceful, arrogant and overly active.
Fixed signs. Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius are fixed signs. They are neutral and stable. They are reflective, determined and like to stick to their ideas and ways of life. On negative side they could be lazy, stubborn and stagnant.
Mutable signs. Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pices are mutable signs. They are double-natured and negative. They are thinkers and communicators, changeable, quick-witted, adaptable and introverted. Negatively they could be unstable, unreliable and worry too much.

Male signs. Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius and Aquarius are male signs. They are considered outgoing, extroverted, ambitious and more aggressive compared to their counterparts.
Female signs. Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, Pisces are female signs. They are introspective, receptive, and sensitive. They are often associated with nurturing and are generally more reserved or inward-looking than masculine signs

Fire signs. Aries, Leo, Sagittarius. Fire signs are known for their passion, creativity, enthusiasm, and assertiveness. They are dynamic, determined, independent and dramatic. They could be good leaders, sportsmen, actors and public figures.
Earth signs. Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn. Earth signs are practical, grounded, dependable, materialistic and sensual. They could also be coarse, too attached to material world and unimaginative. They will do well as doctors, bankers, farmers and other professions with practical focus.
Air signs. Gemini, Libra, Aquarius. Air signs are intellectual, social, and are oriented towards communication. Journalists, writers, media people, intellectuals have strong air signs placements.
Water signs. Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces. Water signs are emotional, sensitive, and intuitive. They are caring, compassionate and family-oriented but could be overly emotional. They make good teachers, healers, chefs and psychics.

To get more insight in someone's personality it's important to analyse in which sign Ascendant, Sun and Moon are placed. Is there several planets placed in one sign or maybe planets are placed into different signs but all of them belong to one characteristic, e.g. water signs.
